APMA Wants YOU to Participate in Upcoming Social Media Campaigns

  • Jan 22, 2024

APMA is interested in featuring YOU for upcoming awareness months, Black History Month in February and Women's History Month in March. Your insights and experiences offer valuable perspectives and contribute to raising awareness about important health-care issues facing the Black community and young women in the field of podiatry.

Black History Month
We aim to shed light on health disparities prevalent in the Black community, such as diabetes, hypertension, and related complications. It is important to emphasize the significance of preventative care measures, particularly the role of podiatrists in regular foot care and how early detection of conditions can be save lives and limbs. APMA invites you to speak on health disparities within the Black community and highlight the importance of seeking regular visits to a podiatrist.

Women's History Month
APMA would like to share the unique experiences and perspectives of a young woman in podiatry. We’re looking for someone to offer invaluable insights into the struggles faced, the milestones accomplished, and the work that still needs to be done to create an inclusive and supportive environment.

How to Participate
APMA wants to feature your story and perspective on our social media channels, reaching a wide audience and amplifying the voices of those making a difference in podiatry and community health. If you are interested in participating send an email to Communications Coordinator Ronnesha Jackson with your chosen topic within these themes, with the subject line “BHM/WHM Social Media Feature – [Your Name].” Please let us know what format (written post or video) that you feel most comfortable producing. Specific guidelines or suggestions for the content will be provided upon request.
