New Skin Substitute Policies Not Taking Effect

  • Oct 2, 2023

Following advocacy by APMA and many others, Novitas, First Coast, and CGS Part B MACs announced on September 28 that their previously finalized new skin substitute policies “will not become effective on October 1.”

Novitas and First Coast issued this guidance in their current skin substitute LCD and CGS issued this guidance in their current skin substitute LCA. All three of these Part B MACs added, “A new Proposed LCD will be published for comment and presented at an Open Meeting in the near future. This LCD will remain in effect.” Note: The links to the previously finalized policies that were to take effect October 1 are no longer active.
